Rev. Ben Daniel Sermon 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time

  1. Ben, I have been enjoying this series -- learning more about Calvin that I knew in the first place, I think!

This sermon started me wondering (once again) when we in the U.S. started believing that freedom of religion means that the government and religion cannot cross paths. Our nation's founders gave us this right to liberate us from government taxing us to support a specific church and its creeds (memory of the reasons for the Reformation were fresh). We were not given this right so that we cannot apply religion to politics, pray at public events, and so forth.

    Peace,
    S.A.
